About the festival

Television Production Festival for Children

LET’S GROW TOGETHER

From October 16th - October 18th, 2024

For the modern child, media is the most important agent of socialization for children and youth. Despite the widespread use of the internet, television remains the most influential and popular medium in the world. Recent global studies show that 65 percent of children worldwide are exposed to television content daily, and in the Republic of Serbia, that percentage is 59.

Children and youth choose media content that aligns with their evolving worldview, and television is a medium that influences their perception of reality and understanding of the phenomena presented to them. They tend to imitate both positive and negative behavior models towards the world around them. From early childhood, screens and thus audio-visual content are accessible to children. By providing high-quality educational content targeted at this audience, we cultivate a future audience and build trust in the future.

During the Festival's activities, children in Serbia will have the opportunity to explore television content available to children across Europe, familiarize themselves with European cultural heritage, and learn how new content is adopted.

Parents, teachers, professionals, and the wider interested public will gain insight into how European countries address the youngest audience, the current topics they cover, and how media raises public awareness about children's rights and the importance of education.

This year's edition of the Festival will raise questions about the relationship between children and media, children's and youth's perspectives on green issues under media influence, and how children participate in decision-making processes on issues that directly concern them and are present in the media.
